Rickman switchgear

#1 PostAuthor: crossthread » Tue Oct 24, 2017 2:40 pm

My Rickman was built from a 1979 Mk2 A3. The left hand switchgear has a button marked STAND which is now redundant. What did it do and how did it work? Stand up or down ? How did it overcome spring tension ?

if you pressed & hold the button it prevented the engine from cutting out while you lay it on the side stand

Thankyou. Simples. I presumed it was some complicated mechanism to make the stand retract automatically. You live and learn.
