Fork height

Looking for a measurement from standard Z1000 front end please anyone.....

I would like a measurement from the centre of front spindle to the top surface of the headstock tube on the frame (not to the top of the forks, or top of the yoke etc.). Also from spindle centre vertically down to the ground.

Need to decide on how much to extend my R6 forks to restore a wee bit of stability!

Thanks in advance....

Hi Zomerset Zed

find a technical description of the original Z1000 measurements and in particular the distance between the front and the rear spindle . Measure it on your bike and adapt the lenght of the forks to the standard measuments.
Remember : the longer the distance between the spindles the more stability but the harder to make sharp turns (chopper forks are great to drive straight ahead) ,the shorter the distance the less stability...
Have you changed your original ball bearings in the head stock by conical roller bearings (SSK400)? Might give it a thought!
Good luck!
