Matching paint, Stardust silver Z1100R

#1 PostAuthor: cruzi » Wed Nov 01, 2017 12:21 am

Hi, has any one got any idea's on how to get Stardust silver paint for a Z1100R, (after much thought of do I go Green or Original Silver!)
I'm thinking of going back to original colours during the restoration of my bike, Unfortunately the original colour has been painted over so wont be able to match it that way.
The end result of colour may have been achieved from using a silver base coat and then adding a blue silver colour over the top.
I'm not sure if it is the same colour that was used on the Z1R, But seems similar with out a direct comparison.
Thanks in advance.

Hi John

a close substitute colour for "Stardust Silver" is "Havasu Blue", found on the 2004 Hodna Acura MDX cars. My paint supplier added a little bit more blue. Mind that the colour changes when applying a clear coat of varnish over it!
I used a light grey base coat on my bike and it looks great (to me anyway).
Good luck !

Found this lot to be good with colour matches.

Should be the same paint as Z650 C2 and Z1R I believe.
