Installing spark plugs in my GPZ750 head recently and the last one went in a bit odd and look like I've damaged the first 1 or 2 threads max.
Obviously don't want to remove the head to re-tap what is hopefully minor damage.
Anyone used a back tap? It;s a Tap that is smaller than the diameter of the hole you're dealing with and expands inside the hole you back it out to re=tap / chase the threads from the inside.
Changed plugs millions of time never had an issue and I'm no gorilla.

Not used one, but taking the head off is pretty easy and also gives you a chance to assess the state of your engine.

Yes! I have used them.
Worth their weight in gold if the first few threads are chewed.
As in the video, use plenty of grease on it to catch any swarf and then spin the motor a few times to blow out the cylinder.
Just be wary to only expand it enough to true the damaged threads and not to open up and slacken the straight ones.
