Just about to start mine - I had two sets of carbs with the box of bits formally known as a Z1000. A 26mm set and a 28mm set. I stripped the 26mm set last night and soaked them today in a Rozone cleaning bath. I just wanted to get the grease and grime off prior to going in my Ultra sonic bath. My intention is to plate and polish as much as I can myself. I have a basic homebrew plating bath based on the Gateros set with some mods.

Sorry the pics got out of sync a bit. They cleaned up really well - just started a little bit of oxidising.

I took the pics for my own reference really - this is the first time I have stripped a bank of four down.

Ultim8pc you have put the carbs back wrong the air screws are on the wrong sides of the carbs you need to swap the pairs around.

Oh yes, so I have....
Oh well, I can fit some new fuel T-pieces while I'm at it, so it won't be a wasted effort...
Fanks a lot..

new fuel T-pieces

I'm going to need some of those as well - is there a decent (better priced) option to the originals? If not any recommendations for the brass with replaceable o rings?

Nrp carbs do them, I think i saw zpower list them too. Much nicer design than the original thingys.

At the risk of hijacking the thread, I’m considering buying an ultrasonic cleaner myself - any advice/warnings/recommendations would be appreciated.

I bought some Kawasaki original items from eBay. Think they worked out at £17 (!) each. Going to try some brass one next time though.

Ollie: buy the best ultrasonic cleaner you can. I can't get all the parts for 4 carbs in mine (even using the old 'plastic tub' extender bodge). It's done me proud but I use it that much I'm probably going to have to buy a bigger one. (Oh and a vapour bead blasting machine and..)
