Oil Cooler THERMOSTAT

I have a Kerker thermostat (oil cooler) and not 100% sure how to connect it correctly?
The take-off's are labelled:
E1 and E2 one side - C1 and C2 the other side (the "C" connections are wider apart).
I think the "E" connections (on left in last photo) are from the engine and the "C" are to the cooler

Yep! E1 feed from engine ... E2 return to engine.... C1 feed to cooler .... C2 return from cooler.

Yes, I ride mine when it's hot - unlike some who only have them as ornaments
Cool oil lasts longer too!!!
Dunno if they're still available - this one came with the Kerker cooler which is fitted on me Z900.

on a trip this year in europe, Bunnyz was running his z1000 with an oil cooler, I was on my a4 without. On normal running his bike was 10 degrees cooler than my a4 and 20 when stuck in traffic. My bike started banging and farting on the over run when it was this hot.....
Thermostat gives you best of both worlds

Taffus, agree 100%, my old Z1A got v hot at a Bike rally in Poole one Summer’s
Day, the engine was smoking out the breather - oil cooking!
I fit a cover on the A4 cooler when it’s not hot weather.
Also allows a few hundred extra ml capacity’s in system.
Oh, and a nice bit of extra “bling”

Back in the day, when I had my original 1000J, I managed to cook the engine oil while having some fun on a motorway. Oil scraper rings on the middle two pistons virtually welded themselves to the pistons, and barrels were good as scrap.
This was travelling at constant high speed on a standard J without cooler, although I do acknowledge that oil was sh1te back then compared with today!
Interestingly, the bike actually ran ok on the way home (around 60 miles), apart from the plumes of white smoke pouring out the back

They are tough old lumps
