Whenever I put my Z on it's sidestand I get some fuel coming out of the carb overflows, making me think my floats are a little high, they're set to what Mikuni recomends (18mm I think) what float height sre other people running on Mikuni RS carbs?

I cant actually tell you the float height. Confronted by a similar situation, i bought a new 17mm alloy plug for the float bowl, drilled it, crimped a short length of copper pipe into and attached a length of windscreen washer tube. It wasnt enough for me to set the floats because i wanted to set the fuel heights when running. With the throttle set at about 1100 RPM i have the fuel level 3 or 4 mm below the float bowl gasket face. As per my old CV's!
That does not help really does it? Bought the float bowl plug from Allens Performance.

Cheers Al, it helps because I now know where to get the plug from, I knew this was the proper way to do float heights but was hoping to avoid doing this.

Allens web site has most info you'll need. If not ring them and ask they are grumpy but knowledgeable. (bit like Al :D )
