Just won a set of these on EBay, anyone got a rough idea of jetting for an 1170 engine with open exhaust?

I might sell my RS34s if the VM33s work better, they're certainly more in fitting with the bike than the RS34s.

Appreciate first dibs on the RS34's if you do decide to sell pleeze

Bob's 1170 running 33mm carbs, is 142.5 mains but running 8 plug head.

So 137.5's 140's should be right for yours. Also they run 0.6 air correctors.

as per APE tuning tips,

"For those of you who still own these carburetors a little jetting trick. In order to get better throttle response install 0.6 air correction jets. This allows you to run a smaller main jet while still giving you approximately the same air fuel ratio as before. Good starting point is 4 main jet sizes smaller than you previously had. Also installing a O-6 needle jet will help lean out the mid range"

I have a new set of 0.6 air correctors up for or grabs if needed.

I'll have a look what's in them when they get here, but might well be interested in the 0.6 air correctors
