Just about to start building my z900 motor and I can't for the life of me remember where this Goes, any idea's?

it should also have a spring & a plunger & it screws into the crank case above the shift drum

No I've got that one and the one that screws into the selector, drawn a blank on this though.
Wouldn't be as bad if I bought the motor as a box of bits but I took it apart!!

It's the Oil pressure bypass valve ( Not neutral detent plunger).
It's missing a spring and ball bearing.
It screws in the top of the oil filter chamber from above in the lower case half before the crankcases are assembled.
When installed you can see the tip on the ball bearing through a small hole in the roof of the filter chamber .
