Nuts and bolts

#1 PostAuthor: Gyesdad » Sun Jan 07, 2018 3:29 pm

I've acquired most of a GPz750 Unitrak and I happen to have most of the parts lying around in the garage to make it into one bike.
Unfortunately, the project will need a lot of fasteners and I don't fancy throwing money at KMUK to get genuine ones, although there will be some special ones that have to be from Kawasaki.
Those of you who have rebuilt basket cases to make a nice presentable bike, where can you get a good assortment of the sizes needed in one big pack? I'd prefer stainless is possible, but it's not essential.
Thanks in advance.

Gary.

I'd suggest you'll end up with a lot of spare unused bolts from a standard pack and/or have 2 when you need 4.

Most of the good stores deliver next day, certainly many on E-Bay do, and the small cost of shipping would outweigh the cost of all those in the standard pack that you don't use.
Cheers,

Mark.

BLACK stainless fasteners are available on Ebay, would be a close match to many of the original fasteners.

Another option, if you still have the original fasteners is to have them replated in black. You'll be amazed how cheap it is & if you use Mikey, they'll look more like black chrome. :sou

Plus one on Mikey's plating - his zinc work almost makes chrome redundant - easy to talk to as well

Never thought about getting them replated..
Thanks for the heads up, I've got quite a few nuts and bolts that I could get done rather than buy new.
