Re: Z1B Uk master cylinder
Hi Chris
the black anodisation on the front brake master cylinder becomes gray or purple by age and/or sunlight. That's normal.
The pictures you've posted are, to my opinion, not from a Kawasaki master cylinder .
I think, but I'm not sure, that one is from a Hodna. The cap and the two ribbles where the brake line is attached are not standard to Kawasaki master cylinders. A Kawasaki master cylinder had a black cap and the part where the brake line is attached is flush.
If you want to use it on a twin disc, look at the underside, there should be "5/8" casted.
All the Kawasaki twin disc master cylinders of that era had that casting on it. Only the twin disc master cylinder of the conversion kit ( available from mai '73) for the Z1 or for the two strokes had 5/8 embossed at the upper side on the place where the brake lever was attached.
Greetings
Philippe

Re: Z1B Uk master cylinder
Thanks Philippe , it does have 5/8 stamped underneath but I tend to agree it may not be Kawasaki
The project is sapping my funds so I may have to compromise but I know it will drive me crazy until I replace it

Hi Chris
I'm a rivet counter too, so don't mind, it doesn't hurt but it can be hard for your wallet...
