1978 z1000A2
, I'm looking at buying a 1978 z1000A2 but it has been resprayed a non standard colour, what was the correct colours for that year ? Also it has Jamo 4into2 pipes. I'm told you can't get the standard pipes and this effects the value.?? 20, 000mls. Any thought on the value of the bike ? Very clean apart from that. Cheers

Only red or green as far as I remember...with the swirly gold stripes.
I believe they did a black one for some other cmarkets.

OE pipes are made of unobtanium - The odd nice set that do pop up fetch silly money. One option though are Z1 4X4 pipes which look VERY nice on the A1/2.
If it's a nice original/standard bike other than pipes & paint then around £5K.

The top (red) one is looks like mine when Dave Cullen owned it afew years ago.
It is now wearing twin discs, and the original pipes make the engine very quiet
Much more than than the 4 into 1 on a z1r.
If you are thinking of buying one I would say go for it!

Welcome, send us a few pics, some of the guys on here will be able to tell you exactly what you should be paying. But my guess would be around £5K too, but theres better educated on here than me
