YUASA or MOTOBAT

#1 PostAuthor: ANZed » Mon Feb 12, 2018 6:01 pm

I am guessing this has been discussed on here before but my searches so far haven't found it. I need to replace a battery on one of my Z1000's, what are your views on the best battery for being left on an Optimate. recommendations on any battery make welcomed.

Dunno about "being left on an Optimate".... but YUASA is a better quality product.
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

Haven't had a problem with either Yuasa or Motobatt.
I have both on Optimates and they have been fine.

Had a Yuasa on my Z1B for 10 years and just gave up the ghost probably would have lasted longer had I checked the levels on it.

+1 Motobatt: I’ve been very impressed at how long they hold their charge, much longer than any other battery I’ve come across. Not so important of course if you’re going to leave the battery on a trickle charger...

Do you mean YUASA acid battery.

Have a YUASA gel batteries on both my zeds now, which during the winter are plugged into CTEK smart chargers, as the Optimate I had fried the Motabatt battery.

Optimate fried my Motobatt as well. Just use a normal charger now.

Motobatt for no other reason than less chance of dumping a load of acid over my lovely shiny exhausts.

Used both, without issues on starting or charging.. If you minimise the drain on any system , you reduce the chance of problems.
