Crankcase Oil Seals and Oil Pressure Relief valve

First of all - a daft question, the two odd shaped o rings that go between the upper and lower crankcases and on the oil pump; which way up do they go? I assume the flat site sits into the recess i.e. when the upper crankcase in inverted on the bench the flat side is downwards and the pointed side faces upwards?
Secondly - the oil pressure relief valve bolt - is there a torque setting for this?
Cheers,
Rob

I can't remember but I think the service manual shows you which way as I had to look it up when I did mine...

Flat side in the recess . Raised pointy side facing out.

Thanks, I tried the factory manual and also the Haynes one and couldn't see anything about which way up this o ring went. I did watch the Z900 engine rebuild video on youtube this morning though and although it is a bit grainy, I though he was installing it with the pointy side into the recess? ? ?

If he did it with the raised side in the recess he did it wrong.
Raised side goes against the pump and against the lower case.
