Mind the gap
Need to get my z1000 down an access way that is a couple of inches narrower than the max bars width - Can I just loosen handlebars and move slightly to reduce width ?

Re: Mind the gap
If your cables are long enough, take the bars caps off and twist the bars. You'll need to steer by the forks though. Plenty of anti scratch padding on the tank.

Re: Mind the gap
I have the same problem with an ally way down the side of my house to my shed
if the walk way is flat my solution was a skate board and two people font wheel on the skate board wheel turned and a strap around the wheel and board for me it works very well and with practice I can do it on my own
ow tip put bike in gear and uses the clutch/Engine for braking

Re: Mind the gap
If they’re the standard bars they really should have an inch cut off each end it makes them look better and that’s what the AMA racers used to do back in the day when they had to use standard bars.
The switchgear will pull in quite a bit. You should check first but it’s about an inch each side.

That's what I do to get bikes from my workshop to the adjacent room. I'm doing it enough now that I need to fit a wider door!

Re: Mind the gap
step one measure gap
step two procure a set of bars and cut them to width
step three remove original bars and wrap them up and secure to bike
step four replace original bars with cut down version
step five steer and manoeuvre bike down allyway

Back in the day my mate used to build chops in his living room, he had cut down drag bars which he would use just to get the finished bikes out of the living room. He built several nice chops in there, after his missis left.
