Whilst awaiting the arrival of certain parts on the current resto, ive been reading various Topics on A4 A5s. Which started me wondering what is mine.
When i took possession of mine there was no paperwork only the Nova registration. I was informed it was a 76 A4, and the headstock stated 08/76.
Engine number Z1E-133420
Frame number Z1F-512431
However reading various articles it could be an A5 due to the late month of the build in 76. This is Confused .com, i know theyre basically the same, but what would DVLA assigne it to when i get it registered

Thanksfor that Adrian, that makes interesting reading. If all A5 frame numbers range from 510341 -515578, that would make mine an A5 frame. I think! !!!!

Philippe posted this on another thread
USA plant ( Lincoln Nebraska )
KZ 900 A4 ( 1976 ) : Aug. 75 - June 76
Z1F - 500.001 - 510.340
Z1E - 086.001 - 138.846
KZ 900 A5 ( 1977 ) : Jul 76 - Sep. 76
Z1F - 510.341 - 515.578
Z1E - 086.001 - 138.846
as you can see the frame numbers are known, the specific numbers of the engines that were factory build in not, only the range is known.
