Guyz does this look to be correct advance for Z1a....? Paul J

003 is the correct part but was superseded to 005 this number is stamped on the unit

the full advance mark is in a different position & the lift on the cam is different. the superseded part causes problems getting the timing correct you have to elongate the holes in the points back plate to get the timing correct. the advancer in pauls photo is the original advancer as the lettering & numbers are bigger on the original compared to the superseded part

the F mark on the original advancer is set a 5 degrees bftc & the superseded advancer is set at 20 degrees bftc

Paul as of Engine No - 032866 on.....they changed em to fire at 20 degree's BTDC as oppose to 5 degrees BTDC & the full advance was also changed to then be made @ 2350 rpm instead of 3000rpm. There interchangeable, the later one # 21148-0051 is easily identified as the retarded timing marker points are much further apart ....= denoting the additional advance duration.
