Rubber tank strap route

#1 PostAuthor: Andrew_s » Sun Mar 25, 2018 3:27 pm

Can someone tell me which route the rubber tank strap takes - I've snapped an OE one trying follow the exiting route which is round the frame tubes, even after heating it up - Gonzo came round this afternoon and his strap goes between the tubes on his Thou?

Cheers
Andrew

there should be two small metal lugs under the frame tube which they hook on to

Thanks, I'm ok with the lugs - it's the route the strap takes from there as in, does go round the tubes or between then - I don't want to keep snapping OE straps until I get it right.

Cheers

Between them. They should be tight, if not it has stretched.

Mine fits round the outside of the tubes

They fit around the outside of the tubes, you have stretch as you go.
Stretch to the first tube, stretch across the top to the other side then stretch to the second lug.
This way it will go on, JUST...
