web.archive .org has captured some of the old kz1000r.com website, it has the registry page .
sorry i can't create a link , there was one on the kzrider site a few weeks ago back.

I was looking for that on the web archive site last night but couldn’t find it - I was just looking for the original site not the more recent one. Found it ta! 
That answers one question anyway, the bike series numbers were obviously separate from the KZT or JKAKZ prefixes and were quite mixed up
