Z1B Engine # identifying assistance please?

#1 PostAuthor: johny brando » Sat May 26, 2018 7:52 am

Can any one shed some light please ? I just bought a collection of 900 brickabrac ( 75 % of an engine ) & would like to know if any one can shed some light on 900 engine number runs ? I got amongst over things a pair of decent 900 Crankcases carrying # 802-- I think there Z1B ? ...they have got 6mm exhaust studs but off coarse so doe's Z900 . I know Z1B frames started from about 80750 or some where close to that ..,,,.but Engine numbers - Mmmmm I don't know where they started has any one got any knowledge on this please ? I just remembered the Z900's had the Oil content cast in the Top casing next to engine number...............but I had to leave everything there after paying for it.... as I was on my Bike & I can't pick it all up for a week or so. Cheers guy's.

Johny, I haven't got the numbers to hand but I think that Z1b numbers ran from 47500 to 85000 ish. Sure someone will be along to confirm the exact figures.

Engine number #802*** = 1975 Z1B..
All the info for numbers etc can be found on the Z-POWER site.

Dave- Rob ( Zed 1015 ) has nailed it & directed me Z Power site where all Frame & Engine numbers are shown " Rob was bang on it's a v/late Z1B " ...& you were correct too !!!! Thank you.
