Z650 Hydraulic Clutch?

#1 PostAuthor: RALPHARAMA » Mon May 28, 2018 8:19 am

Does anyone know if there has ever been a hydraulic clutch kit made for the Z650?

CB is struggling with hers now and I am considering making a hydraulic clutch actuator for her, but it would be great if there was a tried and tested system out there to make my life easier; either yo copy or better still buy!

Not sure about a hydralic clutch but im pretty sure the twin worm drive unit for the h1, 2 & kh's is an easy conversion. Making the clutch twice as light. Just dont know if its still available anywhere? Sure someone on the triples club forum would be able to give you details.

Many thanks for that. I'm a member of the triples forum so I have posted the question.

Given her astonishing ability to break clutch cables on whatever bike she rides, I like the idea of a hydraulic clutch, the the triple version sounds a lot easier and hopefully cheaper

This one is on Guyzeds bike, not sure if he is still on hte site, there was a german company offering a kit. Think they have stopped making them, so it would have to be like Guys and DIY. All you need is a clutch handlebar master cyl that matches your rh brake and a suitable slave cyclinder that can be fixed into a mounting that will be welded into the cover.

I like that. That is a conversion I would like to do too :)
Why do I persist in debating with idiots ? I really should know better :)

I have bought another final drive case to attack! I have also ordered a 900R master cylinder and slave. I doubt the slave will be suitable but it will give me a piston diameter to work from and a piston in the unlikely event it's not fucked! Watch this space

I've got one of those off a Yamaha WR400 knocking round in the garage, it has a bent lever, I should really put some effort into fitting it to my Z1170.
