Ugly centre stand.

Ugly centre stand.
Having brought and sussed an easy(ish) way of fitting the spring I am now wondering how long I can bare to look at it? Bike has a 4 into 1 so the bit of stand that you put your foot on when using stand is very prominent. I may just pop the stand on and off as required but was wondering if anyone has cut off the part of the stand that sticks out? I’m thinking if I did it may make it difficult to put foot on it when putting bike up on stand?
Re: Ugly centre stand.
yes it will make it extremely difficult to put it on the stand & you could end up having an injury or even drop the bike
Re: Ugly centre stand.
Yes, thanks for putting me straight about it. Dumb thought wasn’t it.
Re: Ugly centre stand.
Why not leave centre stand off and buy a paddock stand ?

Is the 4-1 an Alfa 41? if not use the side stand and look at it from the RHS

Re: Ugly centre stand.
Or get a 4-2 or 4-4 and the whole side will look better
Re: Ugly centre stand.
Get a Z1R stand, the foot bit is a lot smaller, less obtrusive and only a little less than useless

Re: Ugly centre stand.
They do look ugly.
I’ve thought about cutting the arm off and welding it to the other side of the stand to fit around the 4 into one, or making a socket to fit a detachable arm into.
I’ve never got around to it though. What I usually do is take the stand off and temporarily refit it without the spring if I need to work on the bike. I’ll refit the stand and spring if I’m going touring or something like that.
