A4 air box

#1 PostAuthor: markhemstock » Mon Jun 18, 2018 5:20 pm

Hello al I put a wanted ad for a z9 A4 air box on recently. I thought I had an a4 air so brought the air silencer from oz to finish my restoration off. Turns out I’ve got a z1000 air box and it doesn’t fit on. Lots of feed back given from other members which iam very grateful for cheers all. One directed me to ebay where there’s a Kz900 LTd air for sale and it’s not cheap as expected. All am asking is this air box exactly the same as the air A 4 air box am considering but want to get it right lot of money to waist. Then properly sell my z1000 box and try and recoup a little of the cost . Cheers in advance mark

If you already have a thou airbox and silencer, why not get hold of a thou battery box? its only the height of the battery box that stops the airbox from a thou to be easily fitted,or if you dont wont to adjust your a4 batt box a bit of fabrication would be pretty easy, bet Dks have a thou box!

Hi guys
it doesn't end by only changing the batterybox...you'll need a metal strap to secure the battery, two little pieces to hold the side panel(the top rear but of the Z900A4 side panel sits in the plastic toolbox and the bottom one in a metal bracket)) a Z1000A right hand side panel and maybe other parts to hold the rear of the engine and the battery box . That is if you want to go for original looks. Just mentioning it...

Got to agree.
They do come up for sale every now and again, but anyone wanting one needs to act immediately and be prepared to pay the typical asking price of £400-£500 for a complete one...

Just had a message from guy in OZ who sells repro snorkels for A4 air box I purchased one earlier this year good quality. He’s hoping by the end of the year to be producing repro A4 /A5 air box,s. I’ll hang on and wait and see would just fit on brand new no hassle. Not sure want they will retail at as yet though but good news

Me too, but based on their price for the silencer alone, I would guess you'll still be looking at £400 and then there's shipping and taxes. But let's see.

the tooling cost's will be big as its quite a complex component similar the the 4x4 exhausts so i would say they would want £500 each & a minimum order of 1000
