I am rebuilding a Z1A for a lass and I am having a wiring issue
the bike was crashed so it's been a struggle to get correct parts and as the budget was small We opted for the cheaper option of fitting a z1000 front end
the wiring had been hacked too far gone to repair
so I sourced a good A4 loom along with clocks ignition and switches
it should all be plug and play but when I connect up the battery
the oil light and neutral light come on even when the key is off
any ideas

Re: Z1A wiring problem
On the A4 both those lights are fed directly from the ignition switch brown wire which should not be live when the key is off. Are you using the 1A switch?

Re: Z1A wiring problem
check the brown wire ( switched live) at the ignition switch It should read 0 volts when ignition is off
