Save a set of VM26ss airscrew

#1 PostAuthor: warren3200gt » Wed Aug 08, 2018 1:03 pm

Guys, Been given a set of Very clean VM 26's to try and save. PO has had a go at removing the airscrew and totally buggered it.
Any idea's on how to remove whats left? It's soaking in penetrating fluid at the moment.

He's made a right ball's of that
Everything needs keeping aligned to the seat so I would take it to a machine shop and get them to set it up on a miller. If you try to drill it out the drill will snatch or run off into the ally, which is softer, and make it worse. Don't be tempted to use an "easy out" they are the work of Beelzebub, and should be thrown in the nearest river. I run a machine shop, and have had 30 years of peep's saying "my mate said he could easy get it out"
Hopefully it's still salvageable..............
If you get stuck drop me a PM

Thanks for the offer but I've sorted it now. Just a bit scary doing it. Was hoping for an easy answer but bit the bullet.
Answer, Use the smallest milling piece I have put it in a Dremel and cut a slot and use a small impact driver.

Saved and cleaned to within an inch of their lives, now what to do with them. Leaning towards a mahogany stand and using as a paper weight :D
