Is the case-assy speed gear (part n 41078-001) same for miles and Kilometers?

Thanks

Yes, you are going the same speed, you are just calling it something different.
Cheers,

Mark.

Hi, Finally I managed to fix the issue by replacing the "part" on the wheel (found a NOS at reasonable price), cable and replica speedo.
I have my original speed which I have been told by an Italian specialist which cannot be repaired (the bushing is worn out).
I was reading that Al Marshal is a magician of speedo and can fix everything.
Could you share his contacts?

Ciao

Hi All,
Seems the problem i have is similar to the one discussed... Maybe.
My A4 was an Italian bike imported to the UK but the speedo is crazily out.
It has MPH on the clock but i have had to put white tape on the out side of the glass with the GPS speeds marked on them and ignore the actual speedo reading.

Be nice to have it fixed - tried to find Z-Clocks but site seems to not exist.

Could it be the part on the wheel that spins that needs changing as well?

Hi men

the internal gears of the speedometer have a different color.
The Km/h speedo has white gears, the M/h has light green gears.
The gears can be changed but it's a very fiddling job!
The wobbling of the needle is mostly the result of the damping fluid in the little container underneath the needle being leaked out.
When the speedometer is stored upside down (and that doesn't have to be a long time!!!!) the fluid leaks out of the little container. Often you can see a greasy discoloration of the dial face around the centre of the needle, it becomes darker.
The fluid is some kind of silicon oil and that prevents the needle to wobble.
I've been told that it is possible to fill the little container again with a syringe needle but I never tried it, I also don't know the viscosity of the silicon oil to use.
