#1 PostAuthor: MrC » Fri Sep 14, 2018 7:38 pm

Hey all ..

Right I'm new but old lol . Anyway I've eventually found s Gpz1100b1
After years of looking and procrastinating....

Anyway my question I'm not going down the restore route (I dont think) anyway .. wheel options and possible front end options so guys with way less rust and way more knowledge of what will fit and a d info on sizes and so on for and modded spaces and so on would be a great help .. or for sale ... I'm open to options..

Cheers Chris

Hello Chris what do you want to use the bike for in the main? It makes a difference to what advice you are offered. 17 inch wheels will give a phenomenal choice of tyres where 18's will allow you to use more classic looking styles as an example.
An easy (relatively) swap is 7/11 unitrak wheels. One model; 17/ 18 the other 18 / 17, mix and match for what you want to achieve.
As far as forks; why not keep the originals and re-spring them and add valves, as in the topic below.

Thanks for the reply. I suppose I'm looking for a modern look its a long time since I built bikes so im kinda starting again . I want to keep twin shock . And as for the front end I've read zx9r is a good option with better brakes and so on . So any pointers as to what would be required to make them fit would be good.

Cheers Chris

If i were in that situation again i would go and buy a full front and rear off a ZRX. Little to do compared to some of the other options available and a commonly done upgrade on here and elsewhere.

My Lawson has 18 inch CMA 3 spoke wheels in stock forks at front. Rear is Kipkawa Z1000S replica but ZRX11/1200 swinging arm virtually goes straight in, looks good and keeps twin shocks. My old Unitrak track bike ran FZR600 forks at front with GSXr Slabbie wheels front and rear. 750 Unitrak will give you 18 inch wheels front and rear if you want to stay Kawasaki. 17 inch wheels do give choice of modern tyres but you will ground out the alternator cover on left handers due to loss of ground clearance.
