Im wanting a good Z1 engine builder please in the south yorkshire area,if possible.
My 73 Z1a as always smoked abit,but over the years its got worse,i know its burning oil a bit.
Did a compression test,only got 70psi.
So I'm thing i my need a top end rebuild,rebore etc.
may be carbs balancing as well.
the bike rides ok,but i don't know enough to take on the job my self,so if someone could help me please.Based in Barnsley s,yorks

You cant be that far from Rob ZED1015 (amongst the best there is) if he's in a position to do it i would suggest you have a chat there.

hi noonster, as Al and Adrian both advise speak to rob. if you're changing valve stem seals, don't buy cheap ones. go for original kawasaki or viton green jobs. i have some unused. regarding pistons for a 1st rebore; original Kawasaki pistons and rings (+0.5mm) are what you need.not easy to find really, but i have a mint set wrapped up in 1979 newspaper i could live without.not giving them away tho. mark (pistons no longer available)
