Hi,
the bike specialists could not have been more helpful, and offered to pick the bike up, fix it, then drop it off, as it's under warranty,

if it's an easy fix, I'll do it locally, if not it'll go back,

I would suggest that you don't touch it and let them pick it up and sort it, otherwise if you cock it up (even an 'easy fix' can be buggered up) you'll stuff your warranty for at least that component.

my worry is that 'the bike specialists' sell top bikes but are not specialists on the Z1, and might just have a ducati or suzuki tap in their stock and lob that on, so I'll take a 5 mile trip to see Rob first, if it's a few quid I can live with that,
it's actually not a worry to me I'll just make sure it's fuelled up when I go out on it,
I'll struggle to get better photo's than the dealer put up, but I'll put some up later,

I reckon The Bike Specialists ain’t expert on any type/make of bike! So don’t worry about the incorrect parts being fitted, they won’t have any stock anyway :)

Thanks again for all the comments , The problem turned out to be a blocked fuel tap, Rob , who lives a few miles away offered to take a look,
The tap was removed, stripped, cleaned and replaced, good as new,
Massive thanks to Rob, not only for the repair, but for a look round his workshop !!!, and he makes a decent cuppa as well,

Why do people slate the likes of 'The Bike Specialist', RWHS and Frank, none of them are dragging folk in off the street or marching them to the cash point with a gun in their back.
If you think they're to expensive the don't buy from them, simples!

Stunning bike. Would love that in my garage.

Fuel tap on a bike 40+ years old can be a right pain to get parts for and fix. Glad you got it sorted.
