I have a friends Z1000R ELR on the bench.
Was pretty sure that the carbs were dug 'n' ducked so he bought a set of CR29s and I fitted them and took it to a dyno shop to set it up. They were eleventy billion miles out and no amount of messing about got a decent curve. Air/fuel was all over the place.
I have the bike on my bench. I have double checked the cam timing, made sure that it has the correct lift carbs and the leak down test on the cold engine gives well under 10% leakage. Have changed the plug leads, caps, plugs etc Stock air box with K&N filter.
HAs anyone on here got a set of carbs (any) that they know to be correctly set up they could lend for a test?
Cheers

Re: Anyone help?
Ralph i have a set of 36mm flatslides on mine which are perfectly set up with no issues or glitches anywhere that i wont be using for the next few months. They plug directly into standard boots and fit to the original airbox rubbers (in my case) although you could also use pod type filters of the correct size.
However, having done this recently with someone else i wont be sending them in the post. It is not possible to get the stink out of them enough to satisfy the postal service and i dont want them kicked about in the back of a courier van like most of the stuff we get everyday at work for example.
No problem with lending them but it would have to be collection and delivery in person or Z1OC courier service only i'm afraid.
I am up near Guildford area.

I also have a set of CR33 perfectly set up for a 1170cc engine that are spare and on the shelf. As per Al's comment I wont trust them to post though. I am mid-way between Swindon and Oxford if Al's option is no good. I'd need them back most likely just after Christmas.

Many thanks Martin. My friend is going to see Al on Saturday and fingers crossed they will prove what I suspect which is that the CRs we have been supplied are not fit for purpose. If not, God alone knows
