z1100r pistons
z power tell me that z1100r and gpz 1100 use different pistons . the only rings available are genuine 1st oversize . can anyone tell me how to check if the pistons fitted in my bike are actuality Kawasaki , or aftermarket .
Re: z1100r pistons
The one on the left is an original GPZ1100B 17mm pin.
The one on the right is an original ZX1100 as in Unitrak and 1100R1 18mm pin.

Re: z1100r pistons
take a look at AI's second picture above. art=genuine kawasaki pistons.. it should be directly opposite the 184 stamped on your photos.
Re: z1100r pistons

I thought ZX1100 Unitrak (gpz a1,2,3)and 1100R1 had the same engine but zpower say they have different pistons

Re: z1100r pistons
z1100r & gpz1100 a1/a2 use the same pistons same part numbers gpz1100 b/1/b2 are different
Re: z1100r pistons
Interesting that the Unitrac pistons have longer skirts and presumably must be heavier than the GPz1100b pistons?
Is that maybe partly why they need a bigger pin?
