I need to replace the tires on my Rickman. It has Avons on there at present 100/90/v18 front and 120/90/v18 rear.
The wheels are 5 spoke ronal 2.15 front and rear, with a manufactures date of 1977 stamped in them.
The tires at present have tubes in them, what are the correct tubes to use?

Hi Dunlop 4
ask your local tire supplier for the correct size and brand of the inner tubes.
I'm sure he 'll be able to give you the appropriate advice.
I hope the wheels are not made of magnesium, these only have a safe lifespan of 20 years. If they're made of aluminium don't worry.

I had a Gs 550 in the late 70s that had mag wheels. I rode home one night from my then girlfriend, now wife’s house hearing a rapid clicking from the front end. On inspection the next morning I found every spoke had snapped right through. The discs had held the spokes in-line. Lucky boy! It was a cold wet night, I think the slow riding conditions saved me from a very nasty accident.
