Rear shocks

#1 PostAuthor: scott » Wed Nov 28, 2018 1:27 pm

Would anyone know if ZRX1100 rear shocks will fit a Gpz1100b1. Same length??

I was thinking of buying these if they will fit:

Apparently Ohlins HO963, as listed above, fits various bikes including CB1300 and ZRX1100

ZRX shocks are 365mm centres. 12mm eye at the top, 10mm eye at the bottom. Reservoir goes to the top
ZRX1200 shox have a plastic cover inside the shock body, 1100 don't. That aside, they are pretty much the same items
The shocks will fit pretty much any Zed - it would only be the length that altered. They fit my modified Z650 OK but are longer (in my case that isn't an issue)

I have no idea how long GPZ shocks though
Why do I persist in debating with idiots ? I really should know better :)

I sold these to Lee Jackson a couple of years ago to fit on his ELR project. If I remember correctly he used a ZRX swing arm.

Ohlins do not list anything for GPZ1100 B1 but I would guess they would fit.

If you want further clarification I would be happy to ask my technical contact at Ohlins on your behalf

1981 J1 shocks are 350mm (347 to be picky) centre eye to centre eye.
There is a slight peculiarity with the J1 shocks. Its bottom eye is spaced to one side and its supposed to be like it.
It is to clear the 630 chain and chainguard.
It may be possible that the above also applies to the 1981 B1, however if you are changing the swingarm then it all becomes academic.
