Gus mystery solved they’re off a GPX 750 here’s one... this seller also has ZZR1100 ones which seem to be the same. You’d need to make a bracket to clamp at the back if it hasn’t one but it would be simple enough to fabricate, though the ZZR ones on his listing have them and the originals will work fine with a bit of rubber in them to save your tubes.

if you don’t need the exhaust mount you could cut it off.

This arrangement saves any welding but as GB says you can weld on plates if you’re doing that GPz600 pegs are a good choice that’s what I have on my Z1000. All need Mikey’s magic though...

Nice one Chris.

Yes agree with GB's wise words but if you don't want/need to do any fab. work this could be a good solution.

Cheers Guys

It is an option I’ve considered but would require a frame modification. I might very well have to go down that route.

Long time ago, far far away blah blah blah, i had a similar issue to overcome. I ended up putting the rear footrests through the bottom eye of the rear shocks to keep the MOT man happy because the bike had a twin seat!!. Silencer was a bit lower then mind you.

I was wondering if I could fit something a bit like this to the front maybe.

I wonder if they would be good enough quality.
I could maybe use zx10 rear pegs as well but would need to weld on some lugs. Have you guys got any pictures on the fabrication of the lugs you’ve made and welded into place.

They’re cheap enough  Be interested to know what the quality is like, at that money you could certainly adapt them to fit by getting adapter plates made to suit and anodised. The clamp on rear pegs as discussed are fine,if you want to go for a more permanent fix it’s really just a suitably sized flat plate with two nuts welded on, bolt the peg to it, fettle to fit snugly and weld. I could take a pic of my Z1000 arrangement tomorrow

Thanks Chris. Pictures will be great. I’m good with electrical stuff but poor with mechanics. So any pictures to help with the fabrication of the lugs/brackets, welding etc....everything helps.

Scott,
Been digging through some old pics, a lot seem to have got lost on me old lap top & photobastardbucket has encrypted all me pics so I can't copy 'em back.

Found this one of an early Z1000 project. You can just see the tab welded to the frame rail & at that point undrilled (probably because I hadn't decided what was going on there at the time.)

Here's another, I think with R1 rear pegs attached. (Sorry it's so small  )

Here's another method (Scroll halfway down the page) viewtopic.php?f=7&t=12478&hilit=GB%27s+mean+green+1170r&start=60
And if you haven't done so already, you'll also need the Photobastardbucket fix here; viewtopic.php?f=2&t=41766

Thanks Steve, excellent ideas. It’s a shame that your mechanical skills are so far away from my garage.
