Any suggestions of how to go around clearing built up carbon deposits in the cumbustion area and the exhaust ports, I don’t really want to go down the blasting route

Good quality paint stripper will turn it to mush. Just wash with water!

hi gavin, oxalic acid is the very job; about a £5er a kilo off ebay delivered n about a cupful per gallon of water will nuke the built-up shite,leave the head to soak long as poss.. check YouTube oxalic acid videos..m

Thanks for the replies guys, I will be giving it ago as soon as I manage to get the head carb holders off, them pesky Japanese JIS screws are being a bit stubborn
