Crankshaft End Float

I have just had a client on the phone asking how much detectable crankshaft end float he should expect? He is going to do a full strip anyway and he did say the rotor was accident damaged.

The manual gives tests and specs for run out etc ... but side movement does not seem to be there?

Welcome the thoughts of the many on here that are more knowledgeable about this stuff

with the crank out you measure the left side of number 3 outer race, max is .5mm, from memory new they at .25mm, it's in the manual or service update, carnt remember which but if your stuck l'll try dig it out but might take bit time, busy as.

Thanks gents,

I am reading into this that there should be no perceptible float.
