Double Disc Conversion

Bit of a puzzle here chaps.
Doing a double disc conversion on a Z1b.
Left side fine, original caliper and bracket new pads etc.
Right side, original caliper, pattern bracket, but when placed in position there is a significant GAP between the fork leg and the bracket, so much when tightening the caliper bolts it completely seizes the wheel due to the pressure òn the inside of the disc. Any ideas????. Paul

hi paul, does the new bracket have recesses where it mates to the inner fork face? m

Not quite sure what you mean Mark.
The side of the bracket nearest the fork is slightly raised compared to the inner side if that's what you mean.
It can only go on one way surely.

Brackets probably "handed" - so pattern one must be wrong?

the brackets' mating face should have very slight circular cut-outs allowing the bracket to fit over the the 2 protruding bumps on the fork leg (the threaded bit) the pads too, could be fatter than required? or the 2nd discs thickness and/or offset could be different from the original lhs one... i hope i make sense.

+1 piggy, they are handed, it sounds like pauls is possibly a rhs for a caliper behind the fork fitting...

I had the same problem ...... loosened of the clamps on the bottom of the forks and gave it all a jiggle and it fell into place

Cheers Chris, problem solved.
Some head scratching and a senior moment, losened fork bottoms and they sprung inwards ever so slightly to fit flush with spindle ends.
