Gpz1100b1 Grab rail

#1 PostAuthor: scott » Mon Jan 21, 2019 9:14 pm

My grab rail has a long stem on the right hand side and a short stem on the left hand side. The right hand side mates perfectly to the frame mount. The left hand side does not reach the frame mount. Looks like a space of about 15mm...approximately. Does some sort of spacer live here normally?

The helmet lock has a tubular spacer fixed to it of that approximate size.

Thanks Al, I’ll try and find some pictures of a seat lock and how it’s fitted.

Hi Scott

As AL says the grab rail mounting bolt on the left side passes through the seat catch/ helmet lock .

You could just make a tubular spacer if you dont need the catch.

These are quite hard to find unfortunately... 1000r, 1100R and some 550s use the same lock

Works out about £50 from the states, maybe worth a punt. I think it says that it has no keys. Can I replace the barrel for one with a key?

Second one above looks cheaper and you can get a key cut using the stamped number on it.

AL

EDIT SECOND ONE (GPZ 550) IS A RED HERRING SORRY.

Ok, at least I know I can fall back on the Tomforde one if necessary.
