The reason I ask is, I am stripping the MK2 engine and originally I was convinced that it had never been apart before, however I have just removed the oil pump and there was only 1 knock pin instead of 2 and you can see the crankcase half’s have had non setting gasket on them, I was sure that when I stripped my z1100 shaft many years ago that it wasn’t used on its crankcases,

I think they used Kawabond, which is very similar to 3 bond.
I personally swear by Wellseal.
I hate to think KHI would have missed out a knock pin

semi-permanent liquid gasket on the bottom c/case gavin. it looks like there's a pin missing so the pump has probably been off.

You can remove the oil pump without splitting the cases... so not 100% proof?
