Guys
anyone ever changed the seals head on ? I am talking about as in car engines etc with a length of rope in the bore ?
is it possible on a Z ?

Can be done as you say - but fiddly, so probably better to bite the bullet & give her a good decoke & check whilst you're at it.
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

How would you compess the valve spring to release the colletts?

You use a compressor that bolts to the top of the head.
Valve can also be kept from dropping by using compressed air instead of rope.

Hmm, not seen one of those, always used the G clampy shaped ones. So head off.

So your supposed to bolt it to the cam caps or the cam cover ?
