Early Z1 intake manifolds with no vacuum spigot?

Afternoon chaps.

On my early '72 Z1 I have the 'early' head with built-in Vacuum spigots. Ideally, I'd like to source some 'non-spigot' inlet manifolds - the double-vacuum spigot setup doesn't do it for me :-).

Anyone know the part number for these?, or have a guide on a successful modification/removal of the later spigot type (parts 16065-028 / 16065-029)?

Alternatively, do manifolds from any other Kawasaki model fit as a substitute?

Any guidance greatly appreciated..

James

Hi James
I think that the intake rubbers without spigot are no longer available from Kawasaki...
I don't know if they're available from another manufacturor...
The only thing you can do is to buy intake manifolds with spigot and cut the spigots off. Afterwards you cut a thread in the openings and screw a bolt in. Don't forget to use a sealing agent. Then you cut the remainder of the bolt off and seal them with black liquid gasket.
Make sure that no extra air can be sucked in. When you mount them on the cylinderhead, you can mount the ones from the left on the right hand side of the cylinderhead and vice versa. It'll look like original intake manifolds, only you (and I and others on this forum) will know that you cheat the public
Have a try and good luck

The number you need is 16065-013 but they are very hard to find parts.
