Rear Master Cylinder Rebuild

#1 PostAuthor: nicomkii » Mon Mar 04, 2019 11:34 am

Ok, i have completely stripped and painted the rear brake master cylinder for my Z1000 A1. I have a repair kit in hand and am at the stage of re-assembly.
The old plunger is on the left and the new one on the right. How do I get the seal on without destroying it.

Obviously it goes on but its very tight and I don't want to tear or stretch it. Also I am at a loss as to what lubricant I could put on that won't affect its operation.

wrap some electrical tape around the end of the piston to prevent damage to the seal
