Hi guys, need your expertise. I went out for a ride out on Saturday did a total of 90 mls with a long stop at 50 mls everything ok at that point, I didn’t thrash it at anytime. When I got home there was oil all over the swingin arm over the rear wheel, the inner mud guard and over the main stand. After checking the engine there was a couple of weeps from tacho and alternator grommet but nothing substantial, I removed the air filter and the oil is inside the air box and has leaked out of the airbox drains,
Any idea what has caused this and how to sort it
Thanks in advance

Need more info...engine work over the winter?too much oil?
Re: Major oil leak
If the motor is a gud un it's usually because the oil level is too high.
If not then worn rings/bore will allow excessive blowby and pressurise the cases.

Re: Major oil leak
Morning Guys
I have done a couple of compression tests on the motor,
the first using my cheap and cheerful tester( hose flexes and has a thin sealing O ring at the plug end.
No.1= 107, No2= 102, No.3= 100, No.4= 108
I then used a tester from a mechanic who used to work For a Kawasaki and other dealerships so he has good gear.
No.1=138, No.2= 130, No.3= 128, No.4=140
I have noticed that having slightly extended forks in the bike and the slight slope on the floor of me garage it does make a big difference to the oil level window which way you point the bike on main stand. One way It is a bit over the top level mark, then the other way it’s well full +.

Re: Major oil leak
Comp is decent and the oil level sounds like the cause of the oil blowing.
Anything over the top mark and they will chuck it out.
