Replacing the original Z1000-A1 rear footrest hangers

Hi all
I want to remove the horrible pressed steel footrest hangers and have some brackets welded on so that I can use some triangular-style ally ones instead. I'm not planning to use rearsets, so I don't need to mount them particularly high up or far back. Also the bike will be running a 4-1 and no centrestand, so I only need the RH one to have a boss for the exhaust mounting bracket.
I've seen lots of Zeds modified with this idea - does anyone have any recommendations for which donor ones I could use? I don't want ones that splay out massively as I'm not going to run anything bigger than a 150 rear tyre on a 3.50 rim.
Looking at the new GSX250-R, the ones off there might be suitable. Part of the problem is that modern bikes have a shallower angle for the rear subframe.
Cheers

I used GPZ 600 a lot of the eighties Kawasaki ones are suitable. The ones that have exhaust mounts on both sides it’s easy to cut off the unwanted one and finish off.
These give the idea... obviously you can mount them whatever height you like I have these quite high :D

That is absolutely brilliant, just the job :D
Thanks so much! I'd looked at loads and loads of photos of bikes, and didn't think of GPZ600. Going to ebay right now...
Cheers
