It will run fine, consider getting a Pingel tap as you will get a reserve

The vacuum tap is opened by suction from the inlet and that is all it does , open the tap ....I do not see any reason why you could not run slide carbs on a vacuum operated tap

Just run a vac pipe from one of the rubber inlet manifolds where you would normally attach the vac gauges.
It will do exactly the same job and when you want to balance the carbs just unplug the tap vac pipe from the intake boot and use prime to get the fuel feed.

Think i have found the culprit , o ring on a drain screw breaking up , and where i filed opening in tank for pingel , i did slosh the tank out , but still can see , small powdery metal when draining carbs
