I'm going to be fitting Dyna s ignition to my z1100r this runs the gpz1100 unitrak engine
I know I need a mechanical advancer off a 1000j ect I think the part number is 21148-1020 plus the bolt and washer
Question is do I need a 1000j pick up casing and cover

Unfortunately you do as the Dyna plate has the three screw arrangement. Probably a good idea to replace the seal and gasket at the back of the inner case. On the plus side, the outer cover fits the same way with two screws so you can use youre original and just paint the inner cover black.
From memory you need the bolt but also the 'drive nut' which sits beneath the bolt head.
