Folks
Would a 1982 z1000 have the three ball bearings to stop overstepping neutral from first when stationary?

Thanks.
Looks like somebody's left them out on the motor I've got.
Goes straight into second from first.
Big job ahead

If in doubt & the c /case are apart and in front of you ! Best get in there slide of the gears off & have a Visual , as they may be there....& just jammed in the retracted position maybe gummed up or at some stage maybe got rusty so they don't roll or slide as well as they are meant to ? , this would allow a First to Second gear change without the shafts revolving as they should do.
