I always use Rik Brett for DVLA and cheaper unless he's put prices up in last couple of months

I wouldn't say £55 isn't extortionate as when registered will probably double the bikes value.

Or it's £25 from VJMC if you're a member and £35 if not. Generally a 2 day turn around.

I think its £35 if a non member.

I would go the Kawasaki route from experience.

To save £20 on £55 and take the chance, I would just pay kawasaki £55 and have done with it

Correct. But why would you pay £20 more to get one from Kawasaki? The VJMC is recognised by DVLA for dating certs and as I said before, their turn around is generally 2 days.

I would pay £20 more for peace of mind, its 3 gallons of petrol, 6 pints of premium lager (in the north) 2 packets of cigarettes, not the end of the world. Also Kawasaki have been contacted already and unofficially confirmed the numbers, why f**k about.

If the OP wants to spend a paltry extra £20 then he can feel free to do so.
I'll continue to use the VJMC.

Our club letters generally work - Jerry can’t remember the last time one got knocked back.
