Hello
I recently bought a 1980 z650. It's condition is not too bad. It seems to start easy enough. It's fitted with a V&H 4-1
It runs okay, but is a bit spluttery in the higher revs (over 6500ish) and backfires when I'm slowing down. Power is not great, but that might be because I'm used to newer machines...and forgotten how they were when I was a lad.
There is a possible culprit in that I'm noticed one of the outside downpipes is not bluing, whilst the others are.
Any ideas on possible fault?
Thanks
Brian

Re: z650 running problems
give it a service, points plugs, valves, cam chain tension the whole shooting match then see if it still does it .

Carb rubbers leaking? Fuel/float levels?
