I've had a couple of Oxford ones for over 4 years and they both work well, quite keenly priced too compared with the established brands

I use Optimates 4's for my acid and gel batteries.
Never had a problem, keeps them maintained over winter and does a good job of recovering batteries that are so deeply discharged you would normally chuck in the bin.

Hi Alan

I use the CTEK chargers on several bikes and they have always been reliable and well made . I might just suggest that you go for the larger 5A one as its on offer at 60.00 at the moment on Amazon and might be useful to use on other vehicles if you ever need to use it elsewhere with a higher power requirement (larger cars, boats etc etc ) ..

Good luck

Cheers

Have had two of these for last couple of years. They work a treat very pleased with them.

Hi Alan , I bought a new CTEK- MXS 5.0 4.5 years ago so I can only comment on that model........ but it's been outstanding ! I use on it religiously on both my lead sealed & unsealed & sealed AGM batteries too , I maintenance cycle/charge each one every month & once a year I run the 'Recondition Cycle' on each of them. I have 9 various bike batteries & ( some are now actually 9 years old & all of them are still going strong ) There not a cheap charger... but they are typical Scandinavian quality items. I'd certainly recommend them . Cheers, Johny. B.

I've used CTEK chargers for years, very good indeed.

Thanks all - got the CTEC charger - As a matter of interest, when connecting trickle chargers do you usually connect negative lead to the - battery terminal or to frame of bike ? Also, if you use the eyelets (rather than the clamps) to connect to the battery terminals, can you leave these connected permanently to the battery with the lead and "smart connector" available to use when parked up ? Cheers :blah

Connect to battery terminals. I leave the eyelets and leads connected permanently. Ease of use. Also used the same connector outlet for my sat nav. Just plug in when want to use.
